Key Requirements
To qualify for the SSW visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Skills: Pass a sector-specific skills test (unless you’ve completed Technical Intern Training II in the same field)
- Language: Pass JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic A2 Japanese language test
- Job Offer: Secure employment from an approved Japanese company
- Health & Background: Maintain good health and a clean record
Visa Categories
🟢 SSW Type 1
For workers with technical experience in a designated industry.
- Stay up to 5 years
- Cannot bring family members
- Eligible for 12 industries
🔵 SSW Type 2
For workers with advanced professional skills.
- Unlimited stay (renewable)
- Family reunification allowed
- Eligible for permanent residency
Application Process
- Job Search: Apply for openings in eligible sectors.
- Skills & Language Tests: Pass both required exams.
- Employer Sponsorship: Japanese employer applies for your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
- Visa Application: Submit COE and documents to the Japanese Embassy in Bangladesh.
- Departure & Orientation: Receive pre-departure briefing from Reokho before flying to Japan.
